Announcement: Registration opening soon!

Marquis Studios, Community Word Project and Manhattan New Music Project are proud to announce the date of our upcoming professional development conference, TAP-IN: the Teaching Artist Professional Institute.

New York City's education landscape is changing rapidly. Schools are constantly responding to new technology, changing budgets, education politics and research. Teaching artists should have the tools to keep up with these changes, and the opportunity to sharpen their skills as educators. In a trying economic environment, teaching artists also need resources to network, to find work.

TAP-IN is designed with all these needs in mind. The day-long conference will offer sessions in bread-and-butter areas like classroom management and curriculum integration, as well as workshops to expand the artist's professional toolbox, like Smartboard training and an Inclusion classroom tutorial. Most importantly, the conference will provide a forum for teaching artists to talk with each other, share strategies and frustrations, and connect with resources and job opportunities.

Save the date: TAP-IN will be held Saturday, Januray 23rd from 9:30-4:00. The cost of attendance is $50, which includes three workshops and lunch. Scholarships are available.
